The Weekend.
Time to step away from those work outfits and dress up or dress down!
The golden rule for weekend dressing is to dress for the occasion. Weekends are, after all, reserved for personal activities which do vary throughout the day.
If you start the weekend on a Friday night with a special date, make the effort to go home, shower, and wear a great pair of shoes, pants and an evening shirt. Try not to turn up in the same outfit you've been in since morning.
I have no rules for Saturdays and Sundays. I'd normally go for shorts and a polo tee with flip flops. Its a tad bit sloppy, BUT the trick to making it look good is the polo tee. I wear thick polos with one solid colour. It always works.

A great black shirt always works well for Friday evenings.
Pair with jeans and some good loafers and you've got a winning formula. Its not
too casual, shows that you've gone home and actually SHOWERED, and is snazzy.

Flip-Flops can be sloppy, so if you're meeting a lady friend
and want to keep the shorts, ditch the flip flops for a good pair of loafers.
They need not be leather! Fabric loafers are in fashion now and go really well
with shorts.
The bottom line is, pay attention to the occasions
throughout your weekend and dress for each one. It doesn't matter if its a pair
of comfy flip-flops with shorts and a tee in the day or a snazzy outfit at
night.

Yup, I get cute stuff for my guy, and then promptly borrow it. ;)
